OIP Pre-trip briefing - 7/2
Reported 9am at LT5A for the OIP Pre-trip briefing, together with some other divisions of School of Engineering. Like BE, EE, ECE, MDE and also School of LSCT. Total of 126 students will be going over to Wuhan for this OIP.
We had the cross-cultural talk by Mr Lim, and he explained rather clearly about the cultural gap, how to detect a fake note, some of the culture of the chinese people, the 3 Hs ( Honesty, Humbleness and Hardworking) that we should have, some of the Do's and Don'ts, and to learn more in-depth rather than just looking at the surface.
Next was the briefing by Mr Ho on Oversea Immersion Experience (OIE) module briefing and assessment. A total of 4 assessments to be done upon return. He also touched on what will be expected and how we will be assessed. Journal contributes 50% to the whole assessment, which is really a high weightage.
Break out session to room 05-03-0004 after that to have a more detailed briefing by our trip leader, Mr Wong. Indemnity form, pamphlet, visa application form are all given and also handing in of passport. Be Healthy, Be Safe. Study hard, Play hard.
Tentative Departure Date - 3rd March
Others - To Be Confirmed*
Reminder!
Next meeting : 4:30pm, Thurs 26 Feb 2009 at 46-01-15
